Cavitating Sphere
We’ve just published over on YouTube, what we think at least, are some cool visualisations of cavitation in the wake behind a sphere. The sphere is a geometrically simple shape yet generates a very complex wake field. Check out the animation below and if you like that there are two more from different angles over at our YouTube play list.
For reference the simulation was run on our in-house HPC with the OpenFOAM CFD package. Visualisation was undertaken on our local render farm with ParaView.
